Cutting off your Pastors Authority

1 Sam 24:11 Look my father at what I have in my hand.It is a piece of the hem of your robe. I cut it off but I didn’t kill you. This proves I am not to harm you and that I have not sinned against you even though you have been hunting for me to kill me.

As we know in this passage of scripture David finds Saul and asleep in a cave and cuts off the hem od Sauls robe. When David did this he tried to make it as a sign of devotion unto Saul. But actually it was seen as a sign of rebellion.Saul could of very easily had David killed for his actions but he didn’t. So, what he was doing was cutting off Sauls authority.

Let me bring this into our day and time. A pastors authority is a very important thing in the part of the christians life. But of course our fallen naturehas a problem with authority and being obedient to our pastor. But when we are not obedient to our pastors authority we do cut the hem of correction in
our lives. When we do that we put ourselves in a dangerous position when we reject our pastors correction in our lives that creates rebellion. Our pastor is Gods anonited that speaks into our lives. There are many other ways to cut off our pastors authority in our lives our body langauge can do that or if we try to distance ourselves from our pastor.

As Christians we must be submissive to the man of God that God has placed in our lives. Besides we should never cut of our pastors authority in our lives because it damages the body of christ in so many ways it can create disunity and causes strife.
It also can cause distrust among the saints. So christian becareful about how you cut off the hem of your pastors authority in your life.

  1. I dunno. Mutiny is in the air. I don’t think it’s such a bad thing. So many pastors are corrupt. Isn’t that what Ezekiel explained in chapter 34 in the Wo be to the Shepherds of Israel speach or what Isaiah meant when he said, that their teachers lead them to err (Isaiah 9)? Zechariah pointed out that God will take out vengeance on the shepherds and cut off 3 in one month who also abhorred him (Zechariah 11:8). Isaiah explained that the whole body is full of sores from the bottom of the foot to the top of the head, that all is corrupt. The Lord will cut off both head and tail in one day, the ancient and honorable and the prophet that teaches lies (Isaiah 9:14-15). Like Ezekiel says in 34, most of the shepherds are just out to fatten themselves.

  2. The reason why I wrote this is because is because of issues that was going on in that Church. The founding pastor had a lot of say in the decision along an a lot of time overruled the man that he put in that position.

  3. Yea, sounds messy. Sometimes I feel like religions really enjoy charging tithes in God’s name and then leaving God out of the game.
