Midnight Jam

Acts16:25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God prisoners heard them.

V26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake,so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.

I can only imagine what the prisoners were thinking when Paul and Silas began to pray and sing their praises to their awesome God. But I also believe some of the prisoners probably was wondering what they were doing. Because this was something that normally wouldn’t happen in a prison during that to time of night. Some of them probably felt a tugging at their hearts as Paul and Silas praying and singing. I wonder if these prisoners thought that Paul and Silas were insane began to worship their God at night when they were supposed to be asleep. At this this point as they continued to praise their God for the things that were about to happen. As they were praising him the prison began to shake and the cell doors were opening they began to walk out of the cells to the surprise of the guards. But the odd thing is that none of the prisoners escaped. Also as this was happening their bands were being broken and lives were changed.

Since ,I have laid a foundation lets take a look at it from another angle. Let’s hypothetically say when Paul and Silas were thrown into prison and they decided not to worship God and become bitter for what had happened to them. They also could have complained about the situation they were in. They had every right to complain but they never did complain.Instead they chose to worship God through their storm. The devil tried derailing them by putting them in prison. But God had different plans that night that the devil could not stop. Sometimes God will stop us and change the direction of our lives just as he did with Paul and Silas in that prison.
