Victoria Osteen

Victoria Osteen has made a outlandish statement that has set the christian world on fire with discussion. Here’s the comment that she has made “So, I want you to know this morning , just do good for your own self. Do good because God wants you to be happy. When you come to church, when you come to worship hi m your doing it for yourself because that’s what makes God happy. Amen?

Okay, let say this first of all this is a very humanistic point of view. Which does not surprise coming from the Osteen’s When we come to church we should have a pure heart of worship we shouldn’t do it out of making God happy. When we worship him it is for a connection to him . Besides he knows whether or not if you are truly worshipping him by your heart. Another thing also if we don’t give him enough worship or the correct type of worship does that make him sad.

  1. “…also if we don’t give him enough worship or the correct type of worship does that make him sad.”?

I cannot say but if you get to heaven I’m certain you’ll find out.

  2. I agree with your comment from the perspective of religion which say God is only found in church. If God is found on the inside of a human being then the “yourself” or the “I am” would benefit greatly from worship. I am not sure if Victoria had that point of view when she made the comment. Christianity has become about the institution and the object of the institution and in a lot of cases it is Christ. But Jesus taught that the Kingdom of God was within each person not the organization. So as I worship my temple is being cleansed and Christ who sits on my and your throne is benefited. Peace and health not of the world but of the individual is the message of Christ. If all humans were at peace the world would be at peace.
